And the world came crashing

When the world came crashing
We were hurrying to the goal post,
When I met you, I was brisk and you were slow,
Nothing in between that I would know,
Challenged this bond that we thought to grow,
Hiccups aplenty and common grouse,
Shaken by the thunder that came unannounced,
The world came crashing and we were unaware,
Now, when I look back, I do nothing, just stare

Its a sleepless night and I wander

Its a sleepless night and I wander,
Did I take a lead that I squandered,
Its not new to me that one took a leap of faith,
Only to look back and create clouds around my fate,

If there was just me then I would understand,
Remorse, regret and disappointments that you couldn't withstand,
But that was not the case, still to a decision you raced,
Reminds me of those countless times that I went alone searching for a trace,

Will you, wont you is the question you face,
Risks that I take aren't figments of my own imagination,
Its a sleepless night and I wander in the day,
I look at my own wretched self......... in dismay.

About you and me

If I start to count,
a zillion thoughts I fail to discount,
when you looked upto me and I to you,
even in fragile times we could pursue,

What was unwritten and merely a chance,
your meeting me was nothing but a fleeting glance,
there were two worlds very different that we knew,
then I dared to take a step into the open space,

You reciprocated to me with a similar grace,
the two worlds still stick around,
while I am with you on a parallel ground,
why will I compare you to someone not in our plane,

There is enough to fathom in you that I wont complain,
in a jiffy, you retreating from an unspoken promise,
the worlds are shaken and we suffer from unwanted disdain,
for matters that were momentary, and lapses akin to a temporary stain,

What is bigger I ask,
you me or the argument that is no more than a farce,
I can hold on to my world and you to yours,
But there is this force that strengthened us and there is no remorse,

In those zillion moments that we spent,
a handful won't cause an irreconcilable dissent,
that I will still need you for those zillion times,
and build a world of ours with nothing but your smile.

Wilderness of my own solitude

Into the twilight we end with the same plight,
Compromises and adjustments don't feel right,
We both stand upright, running into each other despite,
Promises of being by the side,

Forever and ever this story plays itself,
Who sacrifices what is still a puzzle,
Communication fails, in front of a wall it wails,
For freedom and redemption which it still trails,
A long time elapsed since this thought prevailed,
Onset of fatigue I fear, still I can't pull myself out, till I fail,
A man in my regards, feeling sorry is fine,
What heals when, to be punctured again, again and again,

Asked to regain and accept, to inflict a mutual pain,
How will the confidence set in, in whom it will, how it will,
Who will sail off my shore, leaving other to explore,
Instead try out with more, easily running from further furore,

Sounds corny but saves you from your unfounded worldly scares,
Might leave us in the lurch, still fosters clarity, reasons good to ignore,
I live by the day that the end is coming, habitual to someone running,
The point of no return looks closer than ever, all thy love is dumped, is stunning,

For comparisons there was never a room,
Present is all that mattered, I again leave everything and roam,
Amidst wilderness of my own solitude,
I have done this time and again, still it feels new,
Pacing myself for another innings, sooner or later,
To look back at compromises we make, for loves sake

Feels like an era

Feels like an era

There was a time that the night felt young,
All it needed was your smile to prolong,
I would live another day in anticipation,
Greeting you was a form of intimation,
That we survived the fall out of a night so dark,
Yet we search for a convincing spark,
Feels like an era I last excused myself off this rigmarole,
Nervousness grips me today, as a life is being stolen off this soul...

In those sixteen kilometers I live a lifetime

A crestfallen heart will always rever, distance it traveled...

In those sixteen kilometers I live a lifetime

In those sixteen kilometers I live a lifetime,
Something precious that every time I need to leave behind,

A destination I rush to when I am fragile,
Because you talk me out of my miseries with a concerned smile,

Not that I am always burdened in search for an elusive destination,
Even then I reach the same address skipping other leisurely station,

In those sixteen kilometers I live a lifetime,
Reality caught up and now even a glimpse of you might just be a crime.

Memories that bind and separate

Those flying planes and shining lights,
From the road we take they impress,
You and I, used to seek these small pleasures,
In an attempt to create memories that last forever,

How much ever You run away from my doorsteps,
There will come a time when we look back,
You and I might still be running down the same highway,
Companions might change but the path of light will not sway,

Memories that once bound us,
Might survive in piecemeal when we lose this thrust,
I am creating a room for I want to lose this baggage,
There might be someone who fills up the vacated space,

What will we gain by holding on,
Ruffled emotions that throw us into an unwanted zone,
You and I willfully squander these chances,
In search of an elusive essential, called peace.

On Strange Tides

At times I think beyond real estate and there is a life that is never linear....it gives you some and takes some, but then thats life -
On strange tides
A fleeting glance of you and I surmise,
Many unfound thoughts grip me, despite,
Some harsh words and turbulent times,
You walk in through me and I can't deny,
A passage on which we set sail onto stranger tides,
How must we pacify, the intensity that pulls us inside,
We rise above a distant horizon, putting fears aside,
Ignoring these swirling waters waiting by our sides,
Safety is restored as we touch the shores one more time,
One look at you and it weakens me down in my spine,
The necessity of being there is again tying us up,
Destination is in oblivion, I may be rushing to the top,
And then it snapped again,
Losing all momentum that we regained,
The unpleasant noise and clutter we did leave behind,
Misunderstanding and misplaced egos stare at me to remind,
The question, who pulled whom was losing itself to banality,
You still remained around, sans promises of eternity.
Those stranger tides, the challenges I needed to abide
Or give up!

So What?

To love is harmony, to love can also be a disease. Whatever it might be, it does gives its highs and lows....Part 3 of the "Those Concealed Lips", the rise and the fall...the 3 part series says it all
So What?
If there were a crystal ball,
I would have gazed through to this fall,
That a pertinent question was to rise above all,
The clarion of "So What" will resonate within these walls,
A species that was born to care,
Often finds it tough to avoid despair,
A mirage of love that it seeks solace in,
Abandons us humans, when it starts to sink in,
In this melee of love and despair,
"So What" doesn't help repair,
That's unanswered and threatens,
A purpose that struggles to meet the end.

The Embrace

Building up on mood of a jittery lover (part 2 to Those concealed lips) ...
The Embrace
You would still speak through those concealed lips,
A soft touch coupled with a tight embrace, which liberates,
An unheard desire an unparalleled passion,
I couldn't help but to reason, that unexpected concussion,
Aren't you surprised who served this magic potion,
That's an elixir to those in commotion,
Or is this an excuse to grab the opportunity,
To simply express what was unspoken and would be so, till eternity.

These concealed lips

How I wish I could converse,
The words I say will prompt an action in reverse,
Minutes will become hours and hours will soon be days,
Being intimate with one I admire, might just be the way,
I can keep lying down and hear you out,
Between your crazy antics I search for an optimal route,
I may feel low or caught dazed at times,
But these concealed lips aren't helping me a dime....

An enigma that is you

An enigma that is you,
Unbelievable, incredible, so untrue,
I opt to bear the consequences,
Of these thrills, marinated with different spices,
Such delectable blends that intoxicate,
Only when you reciprocate,
A one way street is an easy choice,
Why be bereft of fun, at times all you need is some noise,
Waiting for those playful moments in which spirits thrive,
Hibernating may be I, but my combative soul still strives.

Conversation by the mid night

Mumbai Delhi flights always provoke me to write - here is the latest...

Conversations by the mid-night

This indeed is my best try,
Still you fail to read my eyes,

A long note accompanying emotional outbursts,
Neither suit, nor will thrust,

Your vigor and charm, which fuels my admiration,
When even your company is a consolation,

Measured that I am, will never rush,
Won't be surprising, the unspoken I will crush,

Unpleasant and woeful have been the past rides,
First cultivating then destroying, slows me down in my stride,

There is enough and much to talk,
Which I rule out in lieu of a quiet walk,

Under the moonlit sky I prefer its pleasant calm,
A whirlwind that love is, is nothing but a raging storm,

Tell me then, why won't I give it a pass,
Risen are the probabilities of another loss,

The only way I believe is more profound,
Sit tight, safely tied to this merry go round,

Which isn't wanting to halt,
Must be saving us an impending revolt....

Though....Unseen....unexplored.....

When I look back

I want to walk a million miles
From here to destinations
Only thought but never felt
It demands a spirit that won't melt
When I look back
There will be you, I hope
Several are my unfinished desires
To have long conversations with one, I admire
We will pass through dense wilds
At times travel vast country-sides
By roads in works and ones lain
Assurance is all I seek, when I look back, you won't complain...

A playful life

A playful life
The touch of a human,
A semblance to the divine,
Those glittering eyes,
Disheveled but playful hair,
Rare is a joyful form so true,
Being fidgety then, suits you.
I fail to even trace,
Origins of your delightful grace,
Soon I may run out of an excuse,
To caress a bundle oozing life,
Dragging me out of an internal strife,
And a path to being a recluse...

Something new

There is something new in the air,
Is it from jasmines in bloom around here,

Thus begins the search,
Through the garden, into an old church,

Miles I walk for a rendezvous with unfamiliar woods,
Even the lights seemed to fade away, as I stood,

Facing a blanket of fog, that engulfs the deep valley,
Dejected I look back, this failure will add to the tally,

These smells continue to permeate and reinvigorate,
A potent mix of moisture, they effectively intoxicate,

Gentle droplets akin to a human touch,
Fall incessantly, but I don't protest much,

Today, I wait for the winds to subside,
I have to find, where the elusive jasmines reside...

The Batman In You

The only Super Hero I followed thanks to Bale and Nolan
The Batman in you
Think of these tasks you didn't even try,
There is more to a life, than cry,
Over disputes, that publicly you deny,
The Batman in you is wanting to fly,
Why do you bound the unbound,
The beast in you will rebound,
In darkness he will cover more ground,
The Batman in you wouldn't fade, it continues to astound...

The compulsive lover

Curiousity (...of someone who tends to be regular at love) !

Don't look at me this way,
Such distinct curiosity that tends to sway,

A gullible me, has done this before,
Beyond a muscular facade there is more,

An eager soul that plays a limited role,
In matters of admiration and love, even a flamboyant heart loses control,

I am deliberately pacing my steps,
Unusual hurry doesn't win such conquests,

A meandering journey of hope, aspirations and expectations,
Akin to the tumultuous roller coaster once it leaves the station,

You have done this before, argue even the shadows that follow,
I bet to ward off an impending futility, the thought of defeat that i won't swallow.

The hope for a revival

One can only hope (...hope for a revival)

Disgust and despair,
Beaten once, now seems beyond repair,

A heart, that loved and pounded hard,
Is losing grasp on the life it now disregards,

Wasteful is provoking a soul resigned to slumber,
It won't realign to new designs, its days are numbered,

The fresh smell in the air, is adding a beat or two,
Longevity of these may just be a hallucination, not the hope you construe,

Nothing seems to helping a flagging will,
Would you dare, an attempt still...

From where we are... (our trip to velavadar)

From where we are... (our trip to velavadar)
The sky is darkest of the dark,
The rustling of the leaves lends a character to the breeze,
Stars aplenty shine bright,
The two of us, surrounded by thousands of black bucks,
And some predators,
Sit under a sole light....
