We saw Mithya yesterday, and it just reassures me that 5% of the movies every year are going Hollywood way now even in Bollywood. A simple sweet story, aptly played out by none other that Ranvir Shourey and Vinay Pathak with gang (Bheja Fry guys, Vinay is also superb in Johnny Gaddar). This movie and some movies in recent past like Superstar and Khoya Khoya Chand were all made to show the menace behind the stardom in Mumbai. All three may not have done very well but the movies are awesome and Mithya scores over many top class movies.
Ranvir aka VK comes to Mumbai to become and actor instead he lands up as body double for a Don. He gets stuck in the cobweb of intricacies in the real life and the life of the body double aka "Raje Bhaiya". Ranvir's Grunts of "HMMMMM" through the movie keep you laughing and gasping for air, while Vinay who plays a shortish role is too natural and his sidey is great as well. "Bolo main Jhandulal hoon" Ranvir shines with this dialogue.
Movie ends sadly, but the experience is sweet. Story is very realistic and touching, and the most moving was the fact that in order to perform a cremation of long-dead "Raje Bhaiya" VK is shot so that his body could be displayed in Don's place and no one apart from the family would know the reality.
A big incentive is also in Neha Dhupia who is a treat and an eye candy for us the Men!
