The Boozaards of My Life!!!

Just returned from my usual Thirst-day hang out with my colleagues, young and old..experienced and inexperienced....light hearted but none faint hearted. Its been a long long time since I gulped down the first alcoholic drink. The proper and full2 (wholesome) experience was when I was probably in my sophomore year at IIT. Between then and now its been over 15 years, a 1000 drink outings and thousands of dollars spent on such hang outs. More importantly I would say it is the company in which I boozed, ranging from family to retired bureaucrats to lyricists to businessmen to corporate heads to my friends to IIT batchmates to current bureaucrats to unknowns to knowns. Its been just amazing, men women alike/20s to 75s, when I have had good company leading to great talks, then glasses/pints/pegs just don't matter. What matters is till stocks last? or you last?

Tonight is the penultimate night before I head to my business school, a degree I need on my CV and finally I will have (hopefully!). However, the business degree will also introduce to me a 600 member new community of which I dont know any as of today. These 600 would not just add to my Facebook list many would go onto be my Purrrrrfect Booze Partners?! (PBPs) So what do I have in store for me over the next year...lots of booze?.......naah!!! lots of discussion lots of fun lots of networking lots of time to be influenced by the one next to me.

Someone many years back said to me "mahajan tu cigarette nai peeta, peeya kar it gets you strong friends" (mahajan, you dont smoke, you should because it helps you make strong friendships). So I would say "So does booze". When you are young you booze to try and reach a state where nothing matters or say NIRVANA (temporary). While once old, you drink to be able to shed qualms, preventing you from sharing your true self. Not just when with someone, also when one is alone.

Come on!!! don't make excuses and feel good about yourself that that's the only reason. As i would say to someone "I booze, coz its just another drink!!!"
