A nation dreams

As a nation dreams

No one realises that I  feel caged,
hope of a billion, today I am filled with rage,
For once we earned a hard fought independence,
Now abound by sleaze I seek repentance,

As the election tussle reignites,
Clamor for an Utopian society rise,
Solutions aplenty these aspirants devise,
But who would stand up and give a strong fight,

While our country liberates,
I find only a few who are considerate,
For its progress, the outlook at best is bleak,
Dwelling in the past, only votes they seek,

I have no appetite for mediocrity,
All on offer is absurdity,
In the name of a crusade,
The citizens are being absorbed into a wasteful tirade,

For there is a man in sight,
With a promise, that's watertight,
Enough and many arguments I heard,

None convincing enough that we need to be perturbed.
