Home Bound

Home bound

Seated comfortably in this jet plane,
Oblivious of what surrounds,
In these moments, off an otherwise chaotic routine,
I dive in and out of my past, as nostalgia abounds,

Floating over the thick monsoon clouds, now,
And a childhood spent in anticipation of first rains,
A mother's unending love wrapped,
as savouries that await,

I am home bound
and there is a history that's waiting at the gates,
Years of staying away, there isn't a thing that I would highly rate,
Than these moments which I cherish but have become rare.
