Something new

There is something new in the air,
Is it from jasmines in bloom around here,

Thus begins the search,
Through the garden, into an old church,

Miles I walk for a rendezvous with unfamiliar woods,
Even the lights seemed to fade away, as I stood,

Facing a blanket of fog, that engulfs the deep valley,
Dejected I look back, this failure will add to the tally,

These smells continue to permeate and reinvigorate,
A potent mix of moisture, they effectively intoxicate,

Gentle droplets akin to a human touch,
Fall incessantly, but I don't protest much,

Today, I wait for the winds to subside,
I have to find, where the elusive jasmines reside...

(After a long sabbatical from writing)
