Difficult to comprehend was the reason of your departure,
I long held onto the memories that you were to rupture,
A sliver of hope held me steady as the night fell,
Perturbed but a resilient calm took over while my nerves began to swell,
Does every thing good needs to come to a forgettable end,
Amongst the lucky few I thought we were, an alliance wasn't ever threatened,
What I didn't learn were many anomalies, probably my complacence took over,
It was becoming apparent but a split was I thought wasn't possible ever.
